Keeled Skimmer.


Keeled Skimmer (Orthetrum coerulescens) a small darter-like dragonfly which prefers acidic, boggy locations such as Thursley Common.  FAB.

  5. hm. I wonder if this is the same species I photographed a month ago. In Sweden. But mine was darker. Maybe a trick of the light.

  6. NatureFootStep. My ID guide suggests it is present in Central & Western Europe so more than likely you saw the same species. Like many species the males & females darken as they age but the light can change your perception of the true colours.
