Recurvirostra avosetta..

Adult [Pied] Avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta) and below is one of this years offspring. .

Both photographed at Tichwell RSPB Reserve, Norfolk.  FAB.

  8. Love your posts wherever I find them! The Avocets I've seen in this country have a brown tone where yours is black. I would give anything to see either --it has been years since I've seen any here.
