Singing Blackcap.

My first sighting of a returning migrant Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla) photographed during a morning visit to Tices Meadows today. A male in full song as it flitted back and forth in a small patch of woodland.

  1. what a beautiful little thing!

  2. Great shot - we don't get such a big seasonal turnover if birds as the UK - shame really, I miss them as markers of change.

  3. First, enjoyed reading your commentary. Made me feel as if I was there with you watching and listening to the song. And, second, beautiful images.

Thanks so much for sharing and posting a link to this post for us birders at I'd Rather B Birdin' this weekend!!

  4. Brilliant! It's so nice to have our birds back at this time of year.

  5. Hello, what a cute bird. I love the second shot of the Blackcap.

  6. Wonderful encounter! Great shots.
