Great catch Frank. Lovely headgear the females wear.
Very neat catch, never heard of this one before, but very nice one!
Thanks Mary. On your side of the world the Goosander is called Common Merganser.
Great shot Frank. I saw my first one on Saturday at Chew Valley Lakes then promply saw others (as you do) at Slimbridge.
Cheers Trevor. Doesn't that always happen; see one and then they crop up again and again!
Fantastic shot Frank!! I love this bird a lot, but they tend to be quite shy over here. What about in your place?
Hi Chris. We only see Goosanders in the south-east UK during the winter for a relatively short period. My limited experience with them is that they are easily disturbed so you need to be 'invisible' to get very close.
I hope you enjoyed your visit and I appreciate your comments.
