Had just one brief opportunity yesterday morning to snap a male Silver-washed Fritillary(Argynnis paphia) before it recommenced its territorial sorties. FAB.
oh they can be so difficult to capture in a good photo. this is beautiful, surrounded in green. i was chasing something myself today and have not been able to i.d. it. perhaps a moth but it was very pretty!! summertime, it is the time to chase butterflies!!!
The birding is quiet here in Florida, too. However I think all the mosquito spraying has also been effective in sharply reducing the butterfly population.
I'm happy for you that he had to stop and catch his breath.

ReplyDeleteKen. I'm glad we don't have that problem to manage but the Spring and early Summer weather here has not been helpful to our butterflies.
