Silver-washed Fritillary.

Had just one brief opportunity yesterday morning to snap a male Silver-washed Fritillary (Argynnis paphia) before it recommenced its territorial sorties. FAB.

    1. Thanks Debbie. The birding here is so quiet now so the 'flutters' tend take up more of my attention.

  6. The birding is quiet here in Florida, too. However I think all the mosquito spraying has also been effective in sharply reducing the butterfly population.

    1. Ken. I'm glad we don't have that problem to manage but the Spring and early Summer weather here has not been helpful to our butterflies.
